2005 to 2006 round up.

This period has marked a new level of development within mad-den and reslted in new developments. Many of these new development have focused on the personal blog of the Adullam Limited MD Matt at his blog Lord Matt. The aim being to develop new technology for use with NucleusCMS.

It is likely that this news will move to that paltform at some stage.

However, in the mean time we are still experimenting with it for mad-den.net which is enjoying active development while the uk version of the site enjoys only decay due to loss of the central CMS due to an error that the code base developers (xoops) refuse to help fix.

So that is what has been going on arround here.

Although the Mad-Den UK domain has suffered a hosting issue after the darn domain hijack by namesco it should now be soon live again.

As has been mentioned already the Mad-Den.co.uk domain was detagged by the Namesco in response to allegations of professional misconduct. We had written to them saying that if they could see their way to simply releasing our domains we could see our way to no longer wishing to complain. They have not acted (in our opinion) in good faith and we intend to complain.

We have been actively campaigning to have the domains which are ours by rights re-instated and I can announce that the due process has now been completed for now.

On Friday 8th April a letter containing photocopied proofs of identity and a signed declaration form were sent to Nominet the UK Registry. We expect that this will be received by close of business on the 11th April and processed soon after*. As payment has already been made I fully expect the new registrar to activate the DNS settings this week soon after the domains are manually re-tagged. With luck the full services of Mad-Den UK will be back on line by Friday 15th April.

Mad-Den UK, the PHP development site for the Mad-Den collective went down three days ago and has not been seen since.

The cause was the immoral actions of a company called Namesco who resell for MelbourneIT (who caused the panix domain name blunder). Namesco were able to place themselves in a possition to attack the Mad-Den collective after purchasing the registrar Simply.com that held the domain names.

The MAD-DEN Index :: Home of the home page search - UPDATE: "We aim to provide the most useful site on the web. Indexing as many home pages and any other useful or interesting sites as is humanly possible."

Mad-den Index has not seen the greatest ammount of change these last three months and in a world where a day is an age in itself that must seem like eons. Rest assured we have not gone but a lot of work is being done at the end of which we will have stunning new code to work with and a user area and lots of stuff that never made it to versions 1, 2 or 3 of our system. To make matters worse a lot of development time has been crossed over into Mad-Den UK and the new on-line game we have been developing. This has ment a few things have gotten slow and that is simply the limit of not enough coders.
You can be certain that this year will be a good year to be a webset.

At last some home at Mad-Den, news about the site!

We have moved host and are now being kindly hosted by KentIndex.com, thanks to the removal of advert injections we can now once more offer site feeds and start to develope our own user site plug-ins.

A Blog for Mad-Den (Mad-Den News) is now sporting a nice new listing of Webmaster tools.

In other news plans are now in place to use the feed to place the main listings for Mad-Den from the NETwork site to the uk location. This has some interesting points as Mad-Den.net is ASP on Windows and Mad-Den.co.uk is PHP on Linux. Still the good news for those of a real technical mind - the site feed is Client side processed anyway so there should be little in the way of server side issues.

We have in mind to play with some XML at some stage too.

I have officially had enough of the US elections - from now on all sites with anything above a whiff of that countries politics will now be eradicated from this site with extreme prejudice!

All mention of Kerrie's Bush or whatever the heck they yak on about is band as of now. I have been unable to spend time on line without being bombarded with more messages (about this election over the pond at the US) than all the spam offers for cheap pills, free credit cards, and body part enhancement (also all from the US).

In my opinion it is time to stand-up to these guys and say - enough is enough stop abusing the Internet because we in the real world are heartily sick of it.

New Top Site Service

With not one but three short URLs to get you to the service.

The Top site service allows you to place your site in competition to others both as a whole and in individual categories. You get the code to place and if you make the Top 5 the image changes to tell all of your visitors.

Interestingly this service is not running ASP (A mainstay of the web set) but PHP! So does this mean things won't work properly - no of course not Mad-Den has always used a distributed method and syndicated!

A new member for the set - Autopage #1

This one is in a semi-punk cyber style with a pinch of political commentry.

Each Autopage or Self Powered website makes full use of synidication to layout a range of transmittion to form a zeen like result.

Once made these self powered html pages auto update and have conetent provided for them. Eventually I hope that Mad-den will provide more feeds that we can use but this is the pilot.

Next stage will be to create a haloscan account for these pages so that they can be fully referenced by the blogging community.

I am starting to wonder about tieing all this togeather. Some eliments of the set have gained a team of tag trolls.

If I cluster the entire set and cross reference it all then yes the sites will all gain google rank and visiters but the "infection" of the mindless worms will also be an issue. Some of the sites are not so set up for dealing with this kind of cyber scum.

The Aims and Objectives of this Blog

This blog has been set up to replace another blog. It will act as a news center for the development of all items within the web-set both commercial and private.

At present the web set lossly encompases some 3 Group/communities, 6 Blogs, 3 Private Sites, 1 Cermercial Site, 2 Site-rings, 2 Forums abd the possibility that I have forgotten some dusty rundown and out of date location.

It is unsupprising that the set drops the occasional part through neglect. As such this Blog will act as the linch pin alpha. A hub if you like for everything else.

A WebSet Eliment will not be considered official Mad-Den webset material untill it is registered on this site with it's own thread.
